Mase Leshilo is a published writer, social commentator, communicator, and academic contributor in the field of communication.
Her background in publishing and in the field of communication has led her to be an advocate for open communication and workplace wellness, as these create safe working environments in which employees can integrate and engage.
With over 17 years of experience, she has evolved to lend her voice to issues of social justice, a passion sparked by her time as a student in Germany, where she witnessed firsthand the disparity in growth between South Africa and the German way of life. This spark was later fuelled by her masters’ dissertation on student activism in South Africa, which examined the role of media in identity development in the students of 1976 and 2015-16, respectively.
Her interest in sociology is the source of her dedication to equality and social justice. She is inspired by the German model, a country that has risen from humble beginnings to establish a strong governance structure, propelling it to first-world status. This is a vision she believes is achievable for South Africa, even in the age of intelligence.
